Filtering with SchoolZoneThe SchoolZone Administration website has instructions on how to allow (or deny) category access for users, groups or the whole school. To block (or unblock) a whole web site for your school you will need to log into your school's SINA Administration account and then go to the "Access Manager"
Click on the "Access Manager" button
Click on the "Submit Filter" button
In the "URL to add to School list:" box type just the URL of the site that you want to block or unblock. You don't need the http:// part and often you don't need to put in www either. For example to use "bebo.com" rather than http://www.bebo.com" in this box. There are sometimes exceptions to this and in a very few cases only you may need to add the www part but this is generally very rare. Select the radio option to either block or allow access. It is always useful to put in a description - eg who blocked/allowed access to the website, on which date and for what reasons. Now click on the "Save" button If the website is found you will be told and you will then need to click the "Save" button again. If you don't click save your filter will not be recorded.
Your filter rule will be active overnight and you will be returned to a screen where you can create another filter rule. |
